Why commission a portrait-isn't a photograph good enough?

Photographs are a wonderful way to keep your loved ones close!


But....

While we might remove photographs off the wall, heirloom portraits will be passed down for generations, preserving the history of your ancestors.

In other words, portraits grow more valuable as the years go by.

Portrait painting is not just recreating the image of the subject. 

It can take years of training to capture the essence and personality of the subject. 

 

This recreation of Ferruzzi's Madonna was completed at age 14. My training was in the classics: renaissance, old master oil on linen. 


These are my daughters, who are now in their 20's.
This painting is my most prized possession. 


 

For businesses, portraits are the highest honor you can bestow

upon a person to commend them for their achievements.
